Operation 'Umputation'

No, that's not a misspelling. Qplaze's new game really is called Soviet Spy III: Operation Umputation. It takes its name from an African dictator called Umput who plays a key role in the plot.

And what a plot: click here to read it in its full glory, as we couldn't possibly do it justice. Suffice to say, you play a top-notch Soviet Spy who has to battle waves of zombie mutants, military robots, and 'Umput's woman ally'. Righto.

You do this in a high-tech spacesuit with its own jet engine, zooming through levels taking enemies out with three weapons – a shotgun, hand laser and energy gun. You can upgrade your weapons and armour between levels, and there are 15 to blast your way through.

Qplaze says the game will be visually rich, with plenty of special effects including laser flashes, grenade explosions and atmospheric weather.

It's looking nice. Click 'Track It!' for an alert when we get our hands on a review copy.
