Based on the phenomenon of parkour, where people run, jump and perform tricks as they move through the urban environment, Eidos has announced its Free Running game. Developed by Core Design, with the help of Sébastien Foucan, one of the UK Parkour collective, Urban Freeflow, it promises to be a mixture of Tony Hawk-style moves combined with Spider-Man-esque fluidity as you have to race over city roof tops.

Over 50 different moves will have to be mastered - ranging from the imaginatively-named Kong Vaults, Pharaoh Climbs, Rail Split Vaults and Vertical Wall Runs. Sébastien will appear in the game as your mentor, teaching you the moves and tricks, while other members of Urban Freeflow also make an appearance as unlockable characters. The game is due for release in the autumn.
