According to gamesindustry.biz, Sony has confirmed a PSP price cut for the US market.

The Core PSP pack (PSP, battery and charger), which previously retailed for USD 200 (EUR 150/£101), will now be sold for USD 170 (EUR 127/£86).

While Sony would not confirm any such cut for the European market (where the Core pack currently retails for EUR 200/£150) at this time, expect a price reduction to follow suit – it would be a logical step for the company as it competes within the handheld space currently dominated by Nintendo's DS.

However, such a move may only come as late as September to capitalise on the Christmas period (as well as marking the PSP's second anniversary in the continent).
