Will Sony Ericsson turn your phone into a home console-mobile hybrid with controller support?
|

At a recent showcase event in London, Sony Ericsson unveiled its LiveDock - a peripheral that allows you to dock your Xperia smartphone and connect a range of devices - such as a mouse and keyboard - to it through USB.

Handsets with a HDMI output - such as the Xperia arc S - can also output the phone's display to your big screen TV.

Why is this exciting?

Well, although it wasn't showcased at the event, Sony Ericsson has announced an upcoming controller, meaning you could - theoretically - plug in the controller and smash some green swine on your expensive television.

The revolution

Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson is keeping quiet about its plans for said controller, meaning the above is simply an assumption on our part.

Fingers crossed, though.

Pocket Gamer's Will Wilson has previously offered his opinion on this kind of home console-mobile hybrid as the future of gaming.
