Compilation to offer first four Sonic games
Four gaming golden oldies are being assembled by Sega in Sonic Classic Collection, which has been announced for release on DS.
Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles are to be packed onto a single cartridge in the spring.
As Sega claims, the game will take "full advantage of the Nintendo DS".
DS-specific features including a save-anywhere option to best serve the portable player, as well as bonus videos and pictures are planned.
If the games are ported in good fashion, the extras won't matter much. These classic games were groundbreaking in their era, but can remain as playable today if the conversion to DS is handled properly.
Sonic Classic Collection is expected for DS in March 2010.
