Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed heading to PS Vita and 3DS

Sega has announced that it’ll be bringing the sequel to 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing to both of the major portable systems later in the year.

As spotted at the end of the official trailer for the game (which is unlikely to be representative of how the game will look on the 3DS and Vita), Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed from racing aces Sumo Digital bears both the 3DS and PS Vita logos, along with the usual console gubbins.

The big draw in this year’s version of the cartoon kart racer is the addition of transforming vehicles (you could have probably guessed that from the title, to be honest), although the question as to why Sonic needs to drive in the first place, or why Tails needs a plane to fly, remain unanswered.

Details of the portable versions of the game remain scarce for now, so you’re just going to have to imagine how a cartoon kart racer where the karts have wings will look like.

Or take a look at Mario Kart 7, whichever’s easiest.
