Com2uS is gunning for online with Sniper vs Sniper

Korean publisher Com2uS is making a big push with online iPhone games at the moment, as team leader for global business development Joony Koo told PocketGamer.biz recently.

The company has already tasted App Store success - in North America at least - with Homerun Battle 3D (originally called Baseball Slugger: Home Run Race 3D).

Now it's preparing for its next online game - Sniper vs Sniper.

As the title suggests this is a first-person game viewed mainly through the eyepiece of a sniper rifle.

The controls work with you scanning the target area with binoculars before double-tapping or hitting the crosshair icon to go to scope mode once you've spotted your enemy.

You control your aiming using the accelerometer, and once you have the enemy in your sights you tap the button in the bottom right of the screen to fire. If you miss, your location will be revealed to them.

Like in a beat-'em up, you each have health bars which must be knocked down to zero by accurate shooting for someone to win the battle.

There will be six single player missions, as well as 30 special missions which enable you to upgrade your equipment, increasing its accuracy and range.

In terms of online features, your friends' list can hold up to 20 opponents to play against, or you can just select them via the in-game matchmaking.

And as well as head2head battles, there will be co-op mode where you work with other snipers to hunt down terrorist groups.

Of course, there will be a world ranking so we can all see who is the best sniper. There's also a chat option to start flame wars.

Sniper vs Sniper is due out some time during October.
