Nokia ships the N8

Despite rumours of a another delay, Nokia has packed up and shipped its first N8 smartphones.

The first recipients of the Symbian^3 powered device will be those who pre-ordered. Those who didn't will have to wait a little longer.

Broad availability for the N8 is not expected for a couple of weeks, with stock entirely dependent on country and operator. With a 3.5 glass display, 12-megapixel camera, HD video recording, and easy access to social networking sites, the N8 is the most fully featured Nokia phone yet.

Nokia claims the phone has received the most consumer pre-orders in its history. N8 handsets are making their way out of Nokia factories in China and Finland right now.
