Honor of Kings: World, the newest entry into the globally popular IP, gets a brand new trailer

Gaming giant TenCent together with TiMi Studio has announced their latest project: a mobile open-world RPG based on their immensely popular Honor of Kings IP. With a massive new open world to explore and plenty of fanservice for fans of the immensely popular MOBA, this is definitely one to keep your eyes on!

In case you aren’t familiar, Honor of Kings is an incredibly popular MOBA that boasts over 100 million active players currently. It features a lot of similarities to other genre contemporaries such as the equally popular League of Legends or even a dash of DOTA in there, but its character designs are quite unique and mostly based upon Chinese mythology and aesthetics.

Honor of Kings: World seeks to take this established world with an abundance of fans and supporters and transport it to a new genre entirely. Based on the trailer alone, the world you’ll be exploring is beyond beautiful and features some truly stunning vistas and biomes to explore as you upgrade your characters and collect more and more gear.

On top of this, the combat looks extremely fluid and a lot of fun. It gives me the same vibes as a sort of character-action game, and seems to allow you full ability to mix and match moves in and out of combos as you battle against everything from stone knights to giant golems and many, many others.

Personally, I think it’s always exciting when developers get out of their comfort zone a bit and try their hand at a new genre. Combine that with an already pre-established and super huge IP like Honor of Kings, and this is shaping up to be the next big hit.

Currently, there are no pre-registers to be found or even an official website, so stay tuned for more updates on both of those fronts!
