WonderPlanet Inc., the developers behind Crash Fever, announced today their new mobile JRPG Alice Fiction will be launching this summer and will host a closed beta test soon with registrations for said test opening today. The game will be distributed in English-speaking countries, Japan, China, Korea, and other major regions.

While gameplay details are currently light, Alice Fiction will be set in a fictional reality called ALICE. It’s described as a MetaVerse of sorts, colourful and fantastical. The nitty-gritty details aren’t quite out yet, but we do have a gameplay video featured below. In this video, the game uses a turn-based system but mixes it with a horizontal match-three set-up. This is actually fairly reminiscent of the company’s old game, Crash Fever, which was a match-three puzzler with JRPG mechanics, such as special abilities and an in-depth party levelling system. Alice Fiction, however, seems to be much less puzzler and much more action-based given how fast the combat moves.

Along with general setting information and this gameplay video, the developers also wanted to stress how much they intend to interact with the fanbase for the title. Specifically, they noted they’d like to collaborate with popular creators, such as illustrators and artists all around the world. This comes along with the news that the developers have opened the official Discord server to the public, allowing fans to keep up to date and in touch with the development team.

As for the closed beta applications, they just opened today and will remain open until March 10th, and you can sign up on the official Alice Fiction website. The applications chosen to get in will be chosen completely at random, so cross your fingers that you’re one of the lucky ones who can play this stylish looking unique JRPG title soon!
