How on earth do you follow up a game that involved simply pressing one button to make a stone jump across the water? That was the problem facing Gamevil after the success of its Skipping Stone game.

However, rather than just trot out the same game with slightly different backgrounds, the publisher has taken a different tack for the sequel, Skipping Stone IQ.

It's a collection of fiendish puzzles, albeit featuring the same characters you may have spotted popping up in the background of Skipping Stone.

Puzzles will test your problem-solving, foresight and visualisation skills, while the game will have two difficulty levels, bonuses, in-game hints and an online leaderboard.

"Skipping Stone IQ isn't just another puzzle game or brain game: it's a fusion of the two," says Gamevil's Allen Lee. "We loved the idea of bringing back the old Skipping Stone gang that fans have become fond of, in a new way that's both fun and exciting."

At the moment, the game has only got a confirmed US release, but we'll keep you posted as soon as there's a deal to bring it over here too.
