Who would have thought there was an official licence for Skee-Ball, the fairground game where you roll balls down a slope and try to get them to jump into various pots?

Well there is, and US developer Graveck, alongside publisher Freeverse, have got their hands on it, transforming Graveck's previous 10 Balls 7 Cups iPhone game into Skee-Ball.

Built using the Unity game engine, and the PhysX physics engine for fairground verisimilitude, it has you either flicking or jolting balls down a slope, with fine control provided by tilting your iDevice.

Of course, there has been some additional polish to move from 10 Balls 7 Cups to Skee-Ball, in the forms of better graphics and more whizzy effects.

The point of the real-life game - gaining points to win tickets that you can redeem for large furry toys - is now in virtual place too.

One you win these prizes, you can brag about them to your friends via email, and Skee-Ball is hooked into the Plus+ social networking platform so you can show off how many of the achievements you've unlocked to your friends.

Global leaderboards are also included.

Skee-Ball is out now, priced 99c, €0.79, or 59p. Hit the 'Buy It!' button to go directly to the App Store.
