As part of our recent look into the state of copycats on the Android Market, we briefly touched on the subject of Sinister Planet - a game by Neolithic Software that had been copied by another developer before, bizarrely, being pulled itself from the Market by Google for reasons unknown.

Now, however, the Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning action game is back on the Market, looking sprightlier than ever thanks to a slew of new features that have been added while it was on its forced sabbatical.

Chief among these is two extra game modes - Arcade and Battle - that use cash to purchase upgrades. This is on top of the extra additions made to the game since its original release, including new planets and terrain to fight across.

Neolithic has offered a free refund to everyone who purchased the original version of Sinister Planet as a result of the Google brouhaha, thanks to the latter company’s policy of not un-suspending games.

For newcomers to the game, Sinister Planet is out now on the Android Market for £1.30 (link) and a free trial is also available (link)
