Galaxy Tab specs revealed ahead of September release
Samsung gets down to business
The specs for Samsung’s long hyped Galaxy Tab tablet device have finally been unveiled.
The tablet - which, unlike Apple’s iPad, can also be used as a phone - has been slated for European release in mid-September, with US and Asian launches to come in the following months.
Samsung has also listed the specifications for the device, which include a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, 3-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash, microSD support for up to a 32 GB card, and full HD video playback at 1080p.
It’s also hooked up with Android 2.2, Bluetooth 3.0 and Flash 10.1.
All this fits into a total unit weight of 380 grams.
Whether or not the benefits of added phone functionality will give the Galaxy Tab an edge over the iPad remains to be seen.
