Samsung has let slip the existence of a new tablet device known as the Galaxy Tab.

As you can see from the picture, which was leaked via the official Samsung South Africa Twitter page, it essentially resembles a blown up Galaxy S. Can’t think where we’ve seen that trick before.

Not much is known about the device at the moment, other than the fact it has a 7-inch TFT screen (so it doesn’t share its wee brother’s swanky AMOLED number) and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Other than that, there are two additional features that would appear to score it points over the iPad. The Galaxy Tab appears to have both a front-facing camera and (if that phone icon is any indication) the ability to make calls on the device.

It appears to be running on Android with Samsung's custom TouchWiz UI.
