Russian Black Jack heads to mobile phones

The more vodka you drink, the better you play. Really

Russian Black Jack heads to mobile phones

Have we bored you with our 'The Cold War is about to be fought all over again, except through the medium of Premiership football clubs' theory? No?

See, Manchester United and Liverpool are already owned by Americans, while Chelsea belongs to Russian billionnaire Roman Abramovich and, most recently, fellow Russian oil baron Alisher Ismanov bought a 14.6 per cent stake in Arsenal.

See what we mean? NATO will be stationing missile launchers at Wembley Stadium before we know it. Probably.

If you're on the side of the Russians, you might want to flaunt your allegiance with Dynamic Pixels' new mobile game, Russian Black Jack. It offers two flavours of the card game: normal and special Russian rules, which apparently involve a 36-card pack. But no revolvers, thankfully.

The game also offers a Bluetooth multiplayer mode, as well as an online community where you can see how your skills compare to other players. We don't think that means actual over-the-network multiplayer, mind.

It's more about high-scores, since when playing you're awarded prizes of diamonds (if you win five times in succession), clubs (if you bankrupt the dealer), hearts (if you play a session without losing) and spades (for getting two black jacks in succession). It's these prizes that'll determine your online ranking.

Anyway, who knows if the game will make it to the UK, but it sounds pretty fun. We plan to perfect our skills at Russian Black Jack, and then seek out Roman to see if he'll put his Chelsea shareholding up as a bet…
