Android MMORPG Runes enters private beta

Arena-based MMORPG Rune entered the second beta phase last week, opening up slots for 1,000 new players to test the game on their Android handsets.

Rather than clicking on symbols repeatedly to kill 100 boars, Runes involves player versus player combat that uses a gesture-based control system to trace out spells from the eight different rune shapes.

There are the usual RPG staples of shops, inventory items, and different skins as well as varying factions and ‘evolution trees’ for your character.

There’s also three-versus-three combat, which should make for some interesting teamwork opportunities.

No word on the release date just yet, but if you’re interested in signing up follow this link.
