Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon announced for DS
Due out in the US this autumn
It happens a bit too often for our liking with games. While we're left waiting in the UK for the release of one game, the US or Japan starts gearing up for that game's sequel.
It's recently gone that way with the Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice games and now it's the turn of Rune Factory. While there's still no sign of Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon in the shops here (it's due out on September 12th), Rune Factory 2 is announced for release in the US.
The sequel to the part-farming, part-spell casting RPG takes place several years after the first game. Its activities sound quite similar to before, calling for players to take part in more rustic activities such as building a farm, making friends and bagging themselves a wife, as well as completing quests and raising monsters.
But there is a brand new storyline. You begin the game playing as Kyle, a stranger to Alyarna Village, then later you play as his child in a whole new adventure.
Hopefully the game will make it to our shores eventually, but expect it to be considerably later than North America's 'fall' release date. We'll keep you updated on everyone's favourite fantasy farming game (favourite because it's the only one there is) as we hear more.
