Boardgame Rummikub coming to DS

Whether you've played it or not, you can't not have heard of Rummikub, a tile-based game that's been around since the 1940s. (Okay, I looked that up on Wikipedia.)

Now this classic game is set to be unleashed on a whole new audience: DS owners. Game Factory Online is publishing Rummikub and has confirmed it's based on the standard version of the boardgame and aimed at a 'seven-plus' audience.

Rummikub is in development with Netherlands-based studio Engine Software, which has developed several DS games already, including Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.

At the moment there's not much more information available than that. Rummikub on DS is expected to release towards the end of this year, though. We'll bring you more info and screenshots when they turn up.
