Rock 'n' roll, eh? It's the title of one of our favourite Led Zeppelin songs, and the original musical movement helped give birth to the teenager. And now it's the name of a new mobile game from TAG Games, too.

It's an action-puzzler where you play a bouncing ball called Roll through a succession of mazes, collecting musical notes, eating bones to boost your strength, and avoiding frogs, sea creatures and gophers.

For the inclusion of gophers alone, we salute it. That's an extra point on the review score, for sure.

Instead of moving Roll, you rotate the mazes around him by pressing the '4' and '6' keys, which makes the game a top-down 2D cross between Super Monkey Ball and LocoRoco. Kind of.

There's a Quest mode where you have to work through the mazes in order to free your mate Rock, and a Rock The Clock mode where you're on a time limit.

It's a neat idea, and is shaping up nicely as a casual one-thumb slice of gaming goodness. Rock 'n' Roll is due out by Christmas in the US, with a European release following soon after. Click 'Track It!' to follow its progress.
