Riddim Ribbon featuring The Black Eyed Peas has been released for iPhone and iPod touch.

From developer Tapulous, whose phenomenally popular Tap Tap Revenge series has been among the best-selling games on the App Store, Riddim Ribbon takes a different approach to music gaming.

Instead of emulating songs by tapping out notes, the game has you controlling a ball as it rolls down a ribbon to the beat of the music.

Points are earned by keeping in sync with the ribbon, which moves according to the beat of the music. Branching paths reward bonus points, as well as switch up the music with remixes.

Three songs are offered with the core game, all from The Black Eyed Peas: "Boom Boom Pow," "I Gotta Feeling," and "Meet Me Halfway."

As a bonus, you also get an mp3 download of "Meet Me Halfway (Jeepney Halfway Remix)"; to be clear, this is a free remix audio track for your iPod.

Also available are three downloadable levels in the game for 59p/99c: Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction," along with "Louder than Boom" and "Escape Me" from Tiësto.

Riddim Ribbon is available now for iPhone and iPod touch at a price of £1.99/$2.99.
