We haven't heard much about Tapulous' Riddim Ribbon since the music remix racer was announced back in September during Apple's It's Only Rock and Roll event, which launched the new iPod touch.

Since then, the publisher has been fairly busy with the release of Tap Tap Revenge 3, but CEO Bart Decrem has just posted on the company's blog that Riddim Ribbon will be out in 2010.

"Riddim Ribbon is on the way. In fact, the game is kicking b*tt and taking no prisoners. We're pretty sure you'll love it! That's the good news. However, it's taken us longer than we expected to put all the finishing touches on the game," he explains.

I especially love the "kicking b*tt" bit.

Anyhow, Bart says the team are adding tons of cool features and will be releasing a new video soon.

A new screenshot was also released.

As for what the game's about - think music synthesiser meets Wipeout.

You play a DJ racer, who guides a ball down a 3D song ribbon which runs into the screen like the perspective used in Tap Tap Revenge.

You jump through hoops and choose between different routes to vary the mix. Control is tilt via the accelerometer, with a flick movement used to jump.

And once you've completed a track, the game will save your mix of the song so you can replay and share it, which could be interesting in terms of linking into other community-based features.
