Hudson Entertainment has announced plans to release Rengoku for mobile phones. The game is based on PSP title Rengoku: Tower of Purgatory, which came out a while back.

You play GRAM, a cyborg 'searching for the truth behind his existence' (i.e. hoping desperately that he wasn't invented to automate the burger-flipping process at McDonald's).

The game involves stomping through seven isometric levels, dealing death and destruction to all manner of enemies, each with their own attack patterns.

Customisation will be a big element in the game, with you able to upgrade GRAM's head, arms, torso, legs and weapons to equip him for the task. Power-ups and secrets will be liberally sprinkled throughout the levels, too, to spice things up.

Rengoku is coming out in the US for now, but as soon as we get news on any European release, we'll let you know.
