Killed by Death

Step into the Grim Reaper’s shoes with this suitably macabre mobile game

Death isn’t half as scary as he should be if you’ve been brought up on a diet of Terry Pratchett novels and movies like Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. But that hasn’t stopped mobile games firm Breakpoint from using the Reaper Man as inspiration for its new game, called… Reaper Man. Well, it does what it says on the tin, at least.

The plotline sounds pretty imaginative, actually. As Death, you’re handed a list of four people who’ve managed to avoid the place, time and cause of their death. They should have croaked, in other words, but didn’t. Your job is to right this wrong.

They’re an entertaining cast of characters, too: a serial killer, a drug-addled circus clown, a crazed surgeon, and a voodoo gang leader (Do voodoo gangs exit? They’d make mincemeat of the average horde of hoodied suburban teens round our way if so..)

Anyway, the game boils down to legging it round a bunch of levels wielding a scythe to kill off your four targets, while avoiding getting bumped off yourself. Look out for it now.
