16-player online races confirmed in Real Racing 2
Firemint raises the bar with fully featured online multiplayer
When Real Racing 2 goes on sale for iPhone and iPod touch next week, it'll offer an unprecedented 16-player online racing.
Developer Firemint revealed the impressive feature in an announcement detailing the game's release.
A maximum of 16 players can join together online via wi-fi for competition, whereas locally you can link up with up to 8 other players.
While other racing games have offered online play - Asphalt 5, Reckless Racing - none have come close to the stunningly high 16-player count that Real Racing 2 promises. By the numbers alone, this is a game that raises the bar.
Firemint also confirmed damage modelling, ensuring realistic representations of vehicles getting banged up on the raceway - another feature that rarely appears in racing games, let alone portable ones.
Real Racing 2 will be available for iPhone and iPod touch on December 16th at a price of £5.99/€7.99/$9.99.
