First shots of Rayman Raving Rabbids Mobile

Gameloft's legless hero gets a carrot-chomping new outing on your phone

First shots of Rayman Raving Rabbids Mobile

Rayman rules, and not just because he's missing a few limbs. The colourful cartoon character has been a hit on console and mobile alike, and to tie in with his latest console adventure, Gameloft has a new mobile game too, called Rayman Raving Rabbids.

It's business as usual in this mobile outing, being a quirky platform game with a few twists. This time, the plot concerns a bunch of pesky 'rabbids' (you know, toothy, big ears, like carrots...) that disappeared from the earth, only to return bent on a gruesome revenge. It's like Watership Down, except more violent. Kind of. And without Bright Eyes as a theme tune, thankfully.

As Rayman, you have to fight the rabbids over eight levels, which are spread between three different locations – the forest, the beach, and the rabbids' HQ. There's several types of rabbids too, including the wonderful-sounding pirate rabbids, which we sincerely hope have peg-legs – if only to see how they hop.

Rayman has a bunch of new moves too, including the wall-run, the roll, the bungee jump and even some kung-fu moves. Oh, and he gets to hitch a lift with a flying pig along the way, which will automatically add a point to the review score on Pocket Gamer. (We're joking, obviously. It's only flying monkeys that get extra points round here. Or gnus.)

Rayman Raving Rabbids has literally just popped up on Gameloft's website, so it'll be on sale from your operator any day now. Click 'Track It!' for a rabbidy reminder when we review it.
