Retro-heads will remember Snake quite fondly, and be intrigued to hear it's slithered its way onto the iPhone courtesy of Binary Disco. It's not long since InLogic announced a version was coming to mobiles, so it seems retro serpents are very much en vogue.

Featuring the expected slithering gameplay with a fresh coat of paint, your mission in Rattlesnake is to guide the ever-moving snake around the screen eating small animals (there's also a vegetarian option, apparently, in case the cruelty of nature bothers you). Every time your snake eats something, he gets a bit longer, until you're winding an elaborate and balletic path around the screen in an attempt to avoid eating your own tail.

If it's anything like the classic (which isn't at all unlikely), it should be a lot of fun, so swing by the App Store and take look.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
