Mobile classic Rally Master Pro speeding toward the iPhone

We don't give out many Platinum Awards here at Pocket Gamer, and Rally Master Pro is the only mobile racer ever to have landed that prestigious accolade. It also topped out the 2008 PocketGamer.Biz Quality Index, which tracks ratings on key mobile game review websites to calculate the year's hottest titles.

Therefore, the news that Fishlabs has been secretly working on a full iPhone adaptation of Rally Master Pro is incredibly exciting, and a first glimpse has been revealed over on the developer's official blog.

The iPhone version will boast a massive graphical update. All the 3D models and textures have been completely revised, with the number of polygons being quadrupled and some of the textures increased from 256x256 pixels to a whopping 1024x1024 pixels.

The 27 race tracks will feature different driving conditions to test your skills, including sun, rain and snow, with all new particle effects generated for each individual tyre. It'll also feature dynamic lighting depending on these weather conditions and the environment in which you'll be racing.

Although there's no official release date yet, Fishlabs is currently looking at an autumn launch, so, all being well, Real Racing is going to have some serious competition from Rally Master Pro very soon. Watch this space.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
