Fans of Mad Max and Max Power will be delighted to know that Gameleons (recently responsible for Mr. Schizoo 2, Viki Vans and 4x4 Extreme Rally) is set to release a sequel to its destructive driving game, Race2Kill.

Released last spring, the popular 2D game pitted you against similarly maniacal racers across a series of nine tracks.

Race2Kill Tournament promises to well and truly pimp that ride, with upgrades in a range of areas. For a start the game will be constructed in full 3D, complete with multiple camera angles and dynamic particle effects such as fire, smoke, fog and snow.

There'll be seven very different cars to choose from, ranging from a limo to a bulldozer, all of which can be tuned for better performance. The weapons have also been beefed up, with everything from mines and machine guns to rockets and oil slicks on offer. Plus there'll be plenty of unlockable extras, including new music tracks and motors.

Rather than sequential levels, you'll now take on opponents over multiple battles in the Race2Kill tournament, as well as going head-to-head in a destructive Demolition mode set within special arenas.

We'd like to think that Gameleons' boss Marcin Cudzik was merrily bending fenders and machine-gunning hapless drivers from all over the country when he remarked, "We are very proud of our latest production. The 3D world offers a new and unique gaming experience and is loads of fun."

Then again, perhaps Marcin had just received a rocket up the tailpipe from the even more gleeful sales manager, Michael Hinc from MEE: "Personally I don't know of any other games with similar dynamic and fun-to-play factor. The unique mixture of racing & destruction included in R2K Tournament reminds me of some legendary PC titles I've played in my childhood."
