We've already seen crosswords and Sudoku on the iPhone, so it seems only reasonable that we'd get a variation on the word search theme, too.

Despite its almost unpronounceable name (that makes a sound kinda like you're being sick on an empty stomach) Quordy, adapts the puzzle-book concept to the Apple handset in a very intriguing way. Naturally, it'd be difficult to get your finger on the letters of an expansive word search, so here the number of letters has been significantly reduced.

To compensate you can create words from any letters so long as they're touching - regardless of whether they're in a straight line or not. The most interesting feature, however, is that you can send home-made Quordies to a friend's iPhone, and the system then compares your scores.

Casual puzzling never really gets boring, so this is a game that should garner a fair bit of interest. Hit 'Track It!' to keep up with any further coverage.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
