Steel Media launches iPhone Quality Index review score aggregation site
|

Have you ever wished there was an online resource for iPhone games and apps which aggregates professional reviews into a single metascore?

Well, your luck is in.

Launched in beta by Pocket Gamer publisher Steel Media, Quality Index (or Qi, for short) trawls the web for app and game reviews from respected online and print sources like MacWorld, 148Apps, IGN, and TiPb.

Qi then applies its own magic formula to each site and publication to establish a definitive QI score.

Qi scores for both apps and publishers can be searched for at the click of a button, while regular Top 5 recommendation charts and news round-ups offer additional assistance for app discovery.

Top-rated apps can also be filtered by category and release date, if you're only interested in, say, the most critically acclaimed role-playing games or productivity apps launched in the last month.

Should you then want to delve a little deeper into that game's Qi rating, every one of its amassed reviews is available as a link.

You can even follow Qi on Twitter @qualityindex.
