Secret Sauce wants to share an App Store-related secret with you: a big update to its 3D iPhone and iPad puzzle-racer QuBIT is coming soon - potentially, as soon as this weekend.

Once the update gets approved by Apple, QuBIT players will be treated to a brand-new ice-themed world to race around on, a whole new game mode with rebalanced gameplay, two new playable QuBots, and Retina display support.

More importantly, perhaps, QuBIT will become a free download post-update, though the extra content cited above will cost $1 via an in-app purchase.

Cheers

Before early adopters start grumbling away at us / Secret Sauce, though, for having to fork out twice to obtain the full QuBIT experience, the developer has found a way to mollify exasperated players.

Anybody who picked QuBIT up before July 29th will receive a special 'thank you' prize inside the game.

The developer also confirmed that a "non-iOS" version is in the pipeline, with details to be announced "soon". Until then, you'll just have to play the waiting game.

QuBIT is available worldwide right now as a Universal app.
