Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords goes mobile

THQ Wireless bags the rights to put handheld puzzler on phones

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords goes mobile

We're big fans of the DS version of D3Publisher's Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, so it's good news to learn the game is coming to mobile.

The not so good news is that you'll have to wait until early 2008 to play it.

Still, THQ Wireless has bagged the mobile rights to the game, which blends traditional match-three puzzling with the game structure of an old-skool RPG.

Since its release on DS, it's apparently become the top-selling puzzle game for Nintendo's handheld, so it sounds tailor-made for mobile, where casual puzzlers also tend to be strong sellers.

There's no firm details on gameplay yet, but the original features a 150-quest single-player mode, as well as a multiplayer option (although we doubt that'll make it to mobile – but we can hope). Expect more as and when we get it.
