Ripstone games has announced that it will release a free DLC set for its Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning Pure Chess later this summer, but it needs some help naming it.

To alleviate itself of this burden, Ripstone is hosting a naming contest over on its Twitter feed. Interested parties need only tweet a suggested name over to @RipstoneGames (with the hashtag #PureChessComp) in order to enter.

Ripstone will then choose 50 random participants to receive a free copy of Pure Chess for their PS3 or PS Vita, in addition to the 'Park' and 'Forest' DLC packs.

So, about that name…

Later in its PlayStation Blog post Ripstone specifies that the contest will 'help inspire a name', so it seems unlikely that the DLC pack will actually feature a name generated by a fan, especially given the number of randomly selected winners.

Those wishing to participate in the contest had best think quickly – the deadline for submissions is 11:59pm PST on Friday, July 13th.
