We weren't lying when we told you earlier this month that VooFoo Studios's gorgeous-looking Vita game Pure Chess would arrive on April 18th: the checkmate-'em-up (oh, yes!) is now available to download from Sony's PlayStation Store.

Pure Chess was developed with assistance from a chess Grandmaster, meaning it's various interactive game modes can be played by both noobs and experts alike.

Naturally, chess is meant to be played with your friends, so Pure Chess allows you to compete against up to seven of your PSN buddies in turn-based asynchronous matches.

You can download Pure Chess from the PlayStation Store for £4.99 / €6.19.
