MWC 2010: T-Mobile Pulse Mini delivers Android for Under £100
Dinky smartphone hits PAYG territory
The original T-Mobile Pulse has already brought Android-powered smartphone goodness to the masses with its budget price point but its successor - which was recently announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress - looks set to go one better.
The T-Mobile Pulse Mini is a surprisingly tiny handset which bears more than a passing resemblance to the HTC Tattoo. It will retail for just £99.99 when it hits UK store shelves in April.
Naturally, to get the RRP so low certain sacrifices have been made by manufacturer Huawei: the tiny 2.8-inch display needs a stylus and there’s no GPS built-in. However, these omissions are unlikely to put off PAYG customers who have yet to experience a phone that packs Google’s increasingly-popular mobile operating system.
Speaking of which, T-Mobile has confirmed that the Pulse Mini will come loaded with Android 2.1, which will ensure it’s capable of running all the latest applications.
With the £100 barrier smashed, could this mark the beginning of total Android supremacy?
