Despite the leaps and bounds game developers have made in the iPhone’s short life, it’s still a platform that’s rather lacking in multiplayer games. But Pudge aims to correct that as you guide your stalwart puffer fish through an endless underwater cave in this cute new platformer-ish game coming to the App Store.

This cave is a dangerous place for a well-inflated puffer fish, and you must help Pudge avoid all manner of obstacles such as stalactites, stalagmites, jellyfish, nautili and cuttlefish.

Bring a second player into this underwater realm, and the orientation of the handset changes to portrait so you can go head-to-head on the same device – poking, prodding and interfering with each other’s puffer fish as you navigate their briny lairs.

Pudge is currently going through the App Store’s approval process and should be with us very shortly. Better start holding your breath.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
