Konami brings more casual games to mobile phones

Mobile gamers sorted for Pirate Poppers and Professor Fizzwhizzle

Konami brings more casual games to mobile phones

Although they may sound like new brands of designer drugs, Fizzwizzle and Pirate Poppers are set to provide entertainment of a decidedly non-pharmaceutical nature when they arrive next year.

The catchily named pair are in fact casual PC games created by PlayFirst. They are due to be transferred to the mobile platform by Konami early next year.

The titles form part of the publisher's ongoing bid to bring a combination of brand new titles as well as ports of their own console games to mobile. (A mobile Pro Evolution Soccer is in development, for instance.)

Pirate Poppers, perhaps not surprisingly, promises "swashbucklin'" fun, which translates into firing of cannonballs at chains to unlock trinkets and jewels in a manner redolent of Zuma.

Meanwhile Professor Fizzwizzle will be mind-expanding puzzle game in which you have to use brains and gadgets to steer the Prof past robot guards and get him home.

Both titles are being developed by Grubby Games, but we hope they'll be anything but grubby when they arrive in 2007.
