Norwegian developer Agitatio has announced details of its latest mobile game. Problemathic looks familiar on the surface, being the latest mobile title to take Breakout as its blueprint.

However, the twist here is hinted at in the title. There's a mathematical theme that sees you solving sums as you play. The game is actually the first in a series of similar titles for three different age groups: six to eight, nine to 11, and 12 to 15.

Structure-wise, you play in five different locations with seven levels apiece, and each location is based on an important historical place for maths: Babylon, Ancient Greece, India, China and the school gym in which I scraped a C in GCSE Mathematics.

(Oh, alright, the fifth location is actually Europe. I can't think how that got in ahead of my suggestion, though).

It's certainly a new twist on the ageing bricks 'n' blocks format, anyway. Now, if someone can release Quadratic Equations Bowling, we'll be sorted.
