Two-wheeled stunts hit DS in Powerbike
Race, do tricks and escape the police
Majesco Entertainment is set to unleash a new motorbike racer onto DS. Called Powerbike, the game takes place in the "perilous world of street racing" and gives you the chance to pull off stunts, run from the police and take part in competitive multiplayer modes.
There's even a story, of sorts. An anonymous sponsor has turned up wanting to race with the best street racers in the world, leaving you wanting to prove you're the best. Races take place in a range of places across eight courses, which include a desert, city and shipyard.
More excitingly than that, though, is the fact there are all sorts of environmental objects you can interact with, so you can jump trains, bridges, traffic congestion and pretty much anything else you can think of.
As you play, cash is earned by performing jumps, burnouts, wheelies and drifts. You can then spend your money on upgrades to your bike's speed, acceleration, traction and stability.
A range of multiplayer modes also enable you to compete with friends via local play in races and stunt games.
Powerbike is due in Europe some time this year. We'll keep you posted on a release date.
