Next time you see someone cheating his way through a social game, spare a thought for his wife and close friends, because he's likely to have cheated on them, too.

According to research carried out by PopCap on current social gaming behaviour and interests among UK and US gamers, half of the people that use cheats in social games will cheat on their taxes and spouses, too.

The results of the poll - conducted in September 2011 - suggest that social gaming cheaters are 3.5 times as likely to be dishonest in the real world as their non-cheating counterparts.

The Brits came out on 'top' in the survey, proving to be the worst offenders when it comes to bending the social gaming rules. Hurrah, we won! Erm.

According to PopCap's survey, 11 per cent of the British citizens who regularly play social games admitted to cheating - 4 per cent more than their US counterparts.
