[UPDATE] PopCap to embed Chuzzle, Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle on European Xperia mini handsets

[UPDATE: PopCap has revealed to Pocket Gamer that its games will be appearing on a wider range of Sony Ericsson handsets: "We are partnering with Sony Ericsson to pre-load our current and future Android games to many more devices going forward. We plan to make the games available on a wider range of Sony Ericsson phones in the near future."]

PopCap has announced a partnership with Sony Ericsson entailing that its games will come pre-loaded on Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro handsets.

The games include Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle, and Chuzzle, though only Chuzzle will be complete – the others will be unlimited trials, with the option to unlock the full games “using a directly integrated billing service.”

PopCap claims the move marks the arrival of its games on European Android handsets, but this isn't entirely true: its signature puzzler Bejeweled 2 is already available, albeit published by EA.

Giordano Bruno Contestabile, PopCap’s senior director of global product and business strategy for mobile, and current holder of the company's 'longest job title' record, says in the press release, “As the Android ecosystem matures, PopCap is committed to providing best-in-class game experiences for Android game players.”
