DSiWare gets more eight-player flag grabbing fun with Pop Island Paperfield

Considering the quality of many DSiWare games, we were pleasantly surprised by odenis Studio's Pop Island.

The team-based capture the flag game is colourful and frantic, and thanks to its eight player multiplayer mode, which supports game sharing, you can play it with all your DS-owning friends too.

Mike, when he reviewed the game said, "Pop Island may be rather simple in its approach to fun, but its impossible to deny its charm and pure craziness a place in your heart".

And now, it's getting a new version.

Pop Island - Paperfield extends the gameplay with an improved graphics engine, running at 60 fps, and three new islands.

There's also a new team, the Magic Shooters, who offer eight vehicles for you to use including tanks, hovercraft, planes, surfing penguins, eagles and black cats.

As before, you can play the game in the Solo mode, racking up points and unlocking new vehicles and maps, or jump into the eight player Multiplayer mode, using the DS Download Play feature with both DSi and DS.

In addition, if you already own Pop Island, you get three new maps and four vehicles, including the helicopter and the submarine.

Pop Island Paperfield costs 200 Nintendo Points and will be out on the US DSiWare store July 12, and around the same time on the European store, although the exact date is yet to be confirmed.
