Nintendo has been fairly tight-lipped at this year's GDC, but then the big N doesn't need to say or do an awful lot to get its evangelical die-hards foaming at the mouth.
Thus even though there are only three of the blighters, these new Pokemon Diamond / Pearl screenshots probably caused a minor stampede when they were unveiled in San Francisco earlier this week.
Our resident language wizard Ed Fear has already reviewed the Japanese version of this latest Pokemon, awarding it a thumping 9/10 and suggesting: "it's somewhat ironic that only now, with the integration of Wi-Fi, Pokémon has become the community game it's always pretended to be. Casting a retrospective eye upon the series, it would appear that every game since the series started in 1995 has just been a level up. This, finally, is the real deal."
The first appearance Pokemon Diamond / Pearl will make in the West is scheduled to be in North America on April 22nd. Us Europeans will have to wait until summer to catch 'em all, but there's always eBay – or the Japanese English Dictionary if you are really obsessed.
