NimbleBit has released the first gameplay trailer for its air-based sequel to the phenomenally successful Tiny Tower.

Pocket Planes puts you in charge of assembling a budding fleet of wonderful flying machines, complete with those little pixellated characters from the developer's previous title.

You're not just amassing a host of impressive jetcraft, mind, for you're also tasked with managing all of the airline's activities, including flight destinations and the cargo that will be delivered.

Sky high

There are 60 different types of craft to buy, and a whole heap of customisation options to ensure each of your contraptions looks stylish in the air and on runways around the globe.

Unfortunately, NimbleBit still hasn't confirmed when Pocket Planes will touch down on the iOS and Android tarmac (last estimate was "summer"), but at least there are now some moving images to gawp at.
