It's Christmas. That means the staff of Pocket Gamer is drunk, if not on alcohol then on the giddying sensation that comes from receiving numerous expensive presents.

All this frivolity means we're not writing stories today. To enable you to connect with us in a different way - one that doesn't involve the transmission of news, reviews, and features concerning the world of portable gaming - we've decided to go on about ourselves a bit.

Cornwall-based Jon has made it his life goal to disprove John Donne’s assertion that “no man is an island.” Which is a fancy way of saying that he’s an antisocial blighter.

Favourite portable gaming platform?

This year it’s been all about my creaky old iPod touch.

Favourite portable game of the year...

Sword & Poker 2 for the sheer amount of time I spent on it (when I could prise it from my wife’s hands).

...and of all time?

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the original Game Boy. It was the right game at the right time of my life. I’ve long since accepted that no game will ever quite match it… *sniff*

Favourite home console game of the year...

Split/Second, mainly because it’s one of the few major 2010 releases I actually played. Oh, and because it’s good. Obviously.

...and of all time?

Ocarina of Time. Startlingly original, I know.

Will you be getting a 3DS?

Depends on the pennies. At some point, no doubt.

What are you hoping to get for Christmas?

Nowt – I don’t celebrate it. Bah, humbug!

What's your new year's resolution?

To hit my thirties in the best physical shape of my life. Not easy when you have the most sedentary job in the world.
