It's Christmas. That means the staff of Pocket Gamer is drunk, if not on alcohol then on the giddying sensation that comes from receiving numerous expensive presents.

All this frivolity means we're not writing stories today. To enable you to connect with us in a different way - one that doesn't involve the transmission of news, reviews, and features concerning the world of portable gaming - we've decided to go on about ourselves a bit.

Despite what you may have heard about Pocket Gamer's rakish advertising manager Alex Rennie - and despite the universal accuracy of these rumours - he has a spiritual side. He recently converted to the Amish faith, though he's trying to have the conversion reversed having learned that it's Mormons, not the Amish, who have multiple wives.

Favourite portable gaming platform?

iPhone.

Favourite portable game of the year...

Angry Birds, obviously.

...and of all time?

Hmm, not sure, let's go with Bejeweled if I'm basing it on playing time.

Favourite home console game of the year...

Not really played a home console, but it'd be Battlefield 2 on the PC.

...and of all time?

All time, it's got to be Pro Evo.

Will you be getting a 3DS?

I won't be getting a 3DS, mainly because I live in 3D and I don't need it in my games as well. Also, watching Avatar 3D in the cinema gave me a headache

What are you hoping to get for Christmas?

For Christmas, I ideally want nothing because if someone gives me a present, I feel slight guilt at not having got them anything. And I'm not getting anything for anyone.

What's your new year's resolution?

As I'll be with Rob Hearn during NYE, my main resolution will be to stay sober so that I don't get my wallet stolen when I pass out.
