It's Christmas. That means the staff of Pocket Gamer is drunk, if not on alcohol then on the giddying sensation that comes from receiving numerous expensive presents.

All this frivolity means we're not writing stories today. To enable you to connect with us in a different way - one that doesn't involve the transmission of news, reviews, and features concerning the world of portable gaming - we've decided to go on about ourselves a bit.

If you go to the city of Manchester on a Friday night and ask the first person you see where you can find the 'dancing man', you'll be given the name of a certain nightclub. If you get in a taxi and ask to be taken to that nightclub the taxi driver will nod. "To see the 'dancing man' I suppose."

When you arrive at the club you'll see a circle of space on the dance floor, and in the middle of that space you'll see, what, an art installation? A religious ritual? A neuropathological event?

Why it's Jon Jordan, industry veteran, maverick Pocket Gamer co-founder and contributor, and editor of PocketGamer.biz.

Favourite portable gaming platform?

I prefer the iPad but only for iPad games or universal apps. iPhone games - i.e. one that require tilt or controls such as FPSs are best on an iPhone/iPod touch

Favourite portable game of the year...

Either Zeptolab's Parachute Ninja or Godzilab's StarDunk (both iPhone). Both were indie games that didn't make many headlines but were well presented and highly enjoyable to play. Of course Zeptolab went on to make Cut the Rope.

...and of all time?

Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time (DS)

Favourite home console game of the year...

Didn't play any. No time. No inclination.

...and of all time?

Final Fantasy VII

Will you be getting a 3DS?

I've got wonky eyes dotchaknow?

What are you hoping to get for Christmas?

World peace, or a Leica. Whatever's easiest to wrap

What's your new year's resolution?

My resolution last year was to do more painting. As far as I got was three canvases, individually primed in yellow, red and blue. In 2011, I might get around to putting some other paint on top of these blank opportunities.

Other than that, maybe this will be the year I manage to quit not smoking. I have very little will power.
