It's Christmas. That means the staff of Pocket Gamer is drunk, if not on alcohol then on the giddying sensation that comes from receiving numerous expensive presents.

All this frivolity means we're not writing stories today. To enable you to connect with us in a different way - one that doesn't involve the transmission of news, reviews, and features concerning the world of portable gaming - we've decided to go on about ourselves a bit.

Blonde-haired, peace-loving, Eton-educated Jimmy is making a name for himself as a hotshot salesman while he trains to be a hotshot lawyer who works in his spare time as a hotshot novelist.

Good news, girls: he's single. Merry Christmas!

Favourite portable gaming platform?

Chess board.

Favourite portable game of the year...

Angry Birds. That's a game isn't it?

...and of all time?

That game that came with the Game Boy (Mario?)

Favourite home console game of the year...

Pro Evo unless it came out in 2009? (It comes out every year, Jim - ed) I'm not sure. It's the only game I've played in the last three years.

I went through about nine seasons on the Master League and discovered an intriguing glitch - the players kept improving so that the game became ever faster and more pinball like.

Anyway, my Burnley team was phenomenal.

...and of all time?

Goldeneye, the only computer game my mother ever played twice.

Will you be getting a 3DS?

A what?

What are you hoping to get for Christmas?

Keira Knightley

What's your new year's resolution?

Finish novel, pass law exams, get girlfriend
