With all eyes on Gamescom 2011 in Cologne the week, Pocket Gamer proprietor Steel Media has its own German event to announce: the launch of Pocket Gamer Germany in partnership with German publisher MediaXP.

The licensing deal - which follows a similar arrangement in France with JmobiL - will see Pocket Gamer Germany delivering the sort of high calibre news, features, and reviews that have made Pocket Gamer a leading editorial destination for English-speaking portable gamers.

“We are very proud to operate the leading mobile entertainment site for Germany, Austria and Switzerland – both on the editorial and commercial side,” said Peter Konhäusner, MediaXP’s CEO.

“With our knowledge we have from long-year industry experience and building up MobileXP we are looking forward to a successful partnership with Steel Media.”

Steel Media MD Chris James said, “I’m delighted to be able to announce a further expansion of the PG universe and especially to be entering the buoyant German market in partnership with a company of the calibre of MediaXP, whom we feel will do a brilliant job in extending the quality and focus we’ve worked so hard to establish”.
